What kind of data do we collect and why?

Comments

When visitors to the site leave comment, we collect the data shown in the commenting form, as well as the IP address of the visitor and the signature of his browser as an aid in the spam detection.

Individual and anonymous string is created based on your email address (the so-called hash) and can be sent to Gravatar for verification.  The Gravatar Privacy Polisy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After the comment is approved, your profile picture is made public and visible next to the comment.

Media

If you are registered user and upload images to the site, you should avoid sending images with EXIF location tags. Visitors to the site can download and read the full location data from the images on the site.

If you leave a comment on our site or use contact form, you will be able to choose an option of saving your name, email address and website address in cookies, so that when using the forms again, the above information will be automatically supplemented. These cookies expire after a year.

If you have an account and log in to this site, temporary cookie will be created to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and will be deleted when you close your browser.

During logging in additional cookies needed to save your login information and selected screen options will be created. Login cookies expire after two days and screen options after a year. If you check the “Remember me” option, login will expire after two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookie will be deleted.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data, only ID of edited or published article. It expires after one day.

How long do we keep your data

If you leave a comment its content and metadata will be kept indefinitely. That way we are able to recognize and approve subsequent comments automatically.

We also keep personal data of registered users submitted in the registration process. Each user can edit or delete their personal information at any time (except user name which is not editable). Site administrators can view and edit this information as well.

Your rights

You have the right to demand deleting your data stored by us. That does not apply to any data that we are legally obliged to keep for administrative, legal, security or other reasons.
